À la mort de son père, Vincent Lafrance est désigné par ses trois frères pour compléter la vente de la maison familiale, à Fitch Bay au Québec. Aussitôt arrivé sur les lieux, il installe son studio de photographie culinaire dans l’ancien atelier de son père. Alors qu’une tempête de neige historique sévit dans la région, il doit composer avec la rareté des ingrédients frais pour poursuivre ses activités professionnelles.

When his father died, Vincent Lafrance was appointed by his three brothers to complete the sale of the family home in Fitch Bay, Quebec. As soon as he arrived on the scene, he set up his culinary photography studio in his father's old studio. As a major snowstorm hit the region, he must deal with the scarcity of fresh ingredients to continue his professional activities.

Le pont couvert
Vincent arrive dans la municipalité de Fitch Bay. Un homme rencontré via amigo express le dépose au pont couvert. Vincent redécouvre la maison de son adolescence. Un grand ménage s’impose.

Vincent arrives in the municipality of Fitch Bay. A man he met via amigo express drops him off at the covered bridge. Vincent rediscovers the house of his adolescence. A clean up is necessary.

La bibliothèque
Le téléphone sonne : la bibliothèque de Stanstead signale à Vincent que plusieurs volumes empruntés par son père sont en retard. Vincent descend la grande côte du Chemin Noël pour aller faire des emplettes.

The phone rings: the Stanstead library informs Vincent that several volumes borrowed by his father are overdue. Vincent goes down the long hill of Noel Road to go shopping.

L’alerte météo
On annonce une immense tempête de neige au bulletin météo. Vincent installe son studio de photographie dans l’ancien atelier de son père. Sur le terrain, la neige s’accumule rapidement.

A huge snowstorm is announced on the weather report. Vincent set up his photography studio in his father's old studio. On the ground, the snow accumulates quickly.

Le Ski de fond
Une tempête de neige historique sévit sur l’ensemble de la MRC de Memphrémagog et dans le Royaume du Nord-est. Vincent profite de l'occasion pour pratiquer des sports d’hiver.

A historic snowstorm hit the entire Memphremagog MRC and the Northeast Kingdom. Vincent takes advantage of the opportunity to practice winter sports.

La neige tombe abondamment. En parcourant l’un des cahiers à dessin de son père, Vincent éprouve une profonde tristesse.

Vincent déneige rigoureusement le terrain : il faut impressionner les visiteurs. Une actrice de Montréal semble intéressée par la maison.

Une première tension s’installe entre Vincent et son agent Fabrice. La lasagne que Vincent a photographiée n’a pas l’air chaude. Il devra redoubler d’ardeur.

Vincent utilise les glaçons suspendus à la gouttière pour créer un cocktail à la mangue. Son agent Fabrice lui annonce que la directrice d’une galerie d’art contemporain parisienne s'intéresse à ses photographies culinaires.

Vincent uses the ice cubes hanging from the gutter to create a mango cocktail. His agent Fabrice tells him that the director of a contemporary art gallery in Paris is interested in his culinary photographs.

Le thé glacé
Vincent repense au déshonneur qui l’habite depuis qu'il a perdu son permis de conduire pour facultés affaiblies. Les tensions s’accentuent entre Vincent et son agent Fabrice, qui ignore tout de l’offre alimentaire dans la MRC de Memphrémagog.

Vincent thinks about the disgrace he has felt since he lost his driver's license for being impaired. Tensions grow between Vincent and his agent Fabrice, who knows nothing about the food supply in the Memphremagog MRC.

L’imprimerie
Une seconde tempête de neige s’abat sur Fitch Bay et sur l’ensemble de la MRC. Dans une imprimerie de Magog, Vincent fait des tirages au jet d’encre pour les envoyer à la galerie Fizerman de Paris.

A second snowstorm hit Fitch Bay and the entire RCM. In a printing shop in Magog, Vincent made inkjet prints to send to the Fizerman Gallery in Paris.

Mud season
Depuis l’adolescence, Vincent entretient une admiration pour le météorologue Mark Breen. C’est en écoutant sa voix qu’il a appris l’anglais. Lors d’une marche dans les rues de Rock Island, il réfléchit à la notion de courage.

L’avis d’ébullition
Vincent doit sortir pour aller acheter de l’eau en bouteille. Cette marche à travers les chemins boueux de la région aura raison de lui. Il doit se résoudre à engager un assistant. Celui-ci devra posséder une voiture.

Vincent must go out to buy bottled water. This walk through the muddy roads of the region will be the end of him. He must decide to hire an assistant. This one will have to have a car.
